Position Scope:
The Executive Assistant provides administrative, marketing, and operational support. This role holds significant responsibility as it supports and prioritizes the organization’s administrative duties to increase impact; assists with managing relationships; and collaborates closely with the Chief of Staff, staff, internal, and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Manage sensitive matters with a high level of confidentiality and discretion especially decisions directly impacting the operations of the organization.
• Organize and maintain contacts and calendar of meetings and events, and often resolve any scheduling issues.
• Arrange travel and accommodations. Prepare expense reports.
• Promote, solicit, and book speaking engagements.
• Prepare presentations, agendas, reports, special projects, and other documents.
• Draft and prepare correspondence for internal announcements, board meetings, and organizations with which the organization is involved.
• Be responsive to emails, texts, and phone calls, with frequent contact outside normal business hours.
• Use discretion, confidentiality, and good judgment.
• Represent the organization in a positive light with professionalism, initiative, and sound judgment.
• Assist with reading, researching, collecting, and analyzing information as needed.
Required Skills & Experiences:
• Minimum of five years of demonstrated experience.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service and the highest level of professionalism with the organization’s extensive partners and networks of political, corporate, and elected leaders throughout the nation and in Washington, DC.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional analytical and people skills.
• Meticulously detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Motivation to take initiative, work independently, and collaborate as a member of a fantastic team.
• Capacity to quickly understand complex and unfamiliar subjects.
• Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule, including some evenings, weekends, and occasional travel.
Required Background:
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Five years of related experience working in a role supporting a high-level executive or organization.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and other office productivity tools, with aptitude to learn new software and systems.
• Exhibit sound judgment with the ability to prioritize and make decisions.
• Excellent communication and time management skills; proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to succeed in a high-paced environment; perform additional duties as assigned.
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Capacity to understand complex and unfamiliar subjects.
• Superb writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Ability to take initiative, work independently, and work as a member of a team.
• Flexible collaborator willing to do what it takes to get the job done; adaptable and enjoys a challenge and being part of an exceptional team of colleagues.

Working Conditions:
The Executive Assistant is a full-time, in-person position based at the GOPAC headquarters in Arlington, Virginia. Compensation:

GOPAC’s intern program:
LEAD (Leadership, Education, Advocacy, Development) on the Potomac—manages the organization’s internships, campus outreach, and growing alumni network. Over the course of eight weeks during the fall and spring, and eleven weeks over the summer, LEAD on the Potomac offers college and graduate students education, mentorship, resources, and training related to practical, conservative solutions to current policy problems.
LEAD on the Potomac is an in-person, structured, full-time internship. To qualify, applicants for LEAD on the Potomac must be an undergraduate student, graduate student, or recent graduate. Applicants must be United States citizens. Living accommodations are not provided, but a list of accommodation suggestions can be supplied, upon request. Similarly, scholarships may be available on a case-by-case basis.
Focus areas include communications, finance/fundraising, and operations. Interns will be assigned to a staff member or department based on need and skillset. Specific requests can be made during the application process.
Learning Experience:
LEAD on the Potomac is a distinctive educational and leadership program that is curated to inform and prepare future leaders for professional success. We provide access to not only free enterprise-based philosophical education but experience and resources for civic and political engagement. Our eight-week program is designed to enhance participants’ leadership capabilities and equip them to confidently and meaningfully contribute to government, public policy, and political contexts.
Program participants will:
Realize real-world, hands-on experience in communications, fundraising, and politics/public policy in a professional environment.
• Engage in issue discussions and networking opportunities to discuss conservative solutions to the challenges our country and states face, in order to advance free-market conservatism.
• Acquire a greater understanding of American political thought and expand their notions of public policy possibilities.
• Expand their knowledge of current public policy challenges.
• Engage with policy influencers and experts—and gain insights into their respective areas of expertise, as well as professional opportunities.
• Receive guidance and mentorship through dedicated one-on-one time with team members.
• Participate in career exploration and preparation, and leadership training opportunities.
• Experience historic and cultural attractions and educational opportunities.
Intern Assignments - In addition to meaningful work, interns will engage in the following:
• Identify and attend at least one Congressional hearing of interest and submit a brief report and analysis.
• Identify and attend two policy-focused events at DC-based think tanks and submit brief reports and analyses. (Three for summer interns)
• Participate in cultural/educational field trips.
• Engage with external influencers in the political/policy/government space at a private group lunch or dinner.
• Attend a one-on-one lunch with GOPAC staff.
Qualifications:
To qualify, applicants for LEAD on the Potomac must be an undergraduate student, graduate student, or recent graduate. Applicants are encouraged to review the GOPAC website (www.GOPAC.org) and be familiar with the history of the organization. Applicants must be United States citizens. In addition, applicants must be available during regular business hours, should be proficient in Microsoft Office programs and email communication, organized, detail-oriented, professional, able to work with deadlines, and possess great communication skills.
